"Au Planteur de Caïffa" coffee roaster est'd. 1890, expanded quickly offering a wide range of general store products and quickly grew to be a significant player in the coffee industry sourcing from Vietnam & North Africa.

Reaching customers in the early 20th century, through travelling salesmen in famous bottle green jackets, that worked through a network of 400 branch hubs. Au Planteur de Caffa and the coffee under the "Caïffa" brand was ubiquitous across France.

One such adventurous salesman Henry de Monfreid, increased the Caiffa legacy across Vietnam & North Africa, promoting the brand through its in-house publications.

Proactively restructuring in war time Europe removed the large Paris headquarters and most of the branches, refocusing Au Planteur de Caïffa on coffee production and roasting. Retaining its following of consumers directly, through the first introduction of innovative loyalty stamps and the famous redeemable hexagonal tokens.

The "
Le Caïffa" brand's reputation has always been larger than its Indochine heritage. Represented on 4 continents, in 12 international markets.
